One Dead, Two Injured in Monday Morning Shooting

AKRON, OH – An altercation on Monday morning resulted in a shooting that left one man dead and two others injured. Responding to a call at 11:37 a.m., officers arrived at the 1400 block of South Main Street. They found two men, aged 26 and 29, in front of a residence with gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate medical aid until EMS arrived.

A third victim, a 25-year-old man, was discovered in the 40 block of E. Emerling Street, not far from the initial location. All men were transported to area hospitals. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old succumbed to his injuries. The two other victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and remain hospitalized.

Initial reports suggest an altercation involving the three men escalated into an exchange of gunfire. At least two handguns were recovered from the scene. No arrests have been made at this time, and the case is under ongoing investigation.
