MTA Bus Driver Stabbed By Passenger During Argument

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department has requested assistance from the public in identifying a suspect involved in an assault case involving an MTA bus driver in Brooklyn.

On Monday, around 2:00 pm, a 42-year-old MTA bus driver was operating a westbound B82 bus near Bay 37 Street and Cropsey Avenue when he entered a dispute with an unknown person.

The unidentified individual proceeded to stab the bus driver in the left hand before fleeing the scene on foot towards the north on 24 Avenue. The bus driver was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Coney Island and is currently in stable condition.


The suspect is described as a male in his thirties, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing around 160 pounds. His complexion is dark and was last seen wearing a red polo shirt with a number 5 on the right side, light blue denim jeans, and red and white sneakers. He was carrying a black fanny pack at the time of the incident.
