Suspects who beat and robbed 69-year-old man caught on video using his credit cards

NEW YORK, NY – A pair of suspects who beat and robbed a 69-year-old man in Rego Park were later caught on video surveillance cameras using the man’s stolen credit cards.

Now, the NYPD is asking the public for assistance in identifying them.

The 69-year-old man was the victim of an assault and robbery in front of 61-111 Fitchett Street on Thursday, May 25, at around 3:40 am. According to a police report, the victim was walking when he was approached by two unidentified individuals.


The assailants proceeded to physically attack the victim, repeatedly striking him in the face. During the assault, they forcefully took his iPhone 14, wallet containing credit cards, and backpack before fleeing the scene in a vehicle driven by a third unidentified individual.

The victim sustained injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening. Emergency Medical Services promptly arrived at the location and transported him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was admitted in stable condition.

Later that morning, at around 4:20 am, the perpetrators attempted to use the stolen credit card at a smoke shop situated at 11 East Moshulu Parkway North in the Bronx.

Law enforcement authorities are actively seeking information on the three individuals involved in the incident. The suspects are described as males with dark complexions and slim builds. They were last seen wearing black clothing and black masks. The vehicle used by the perpetrators is reported to be a red minivan.
