Group of teens attacked woman during Bowery robbery and assault

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in locating five individuals connected to a robbery that took place on Wednesday. Inside the Ava Gallerie at 161 Bowery, six people allegedly stole clothes and attempted to leave without paying.

A 24-year-old female employee tried to prevent their escape and was physically thrown to the ground. Five suspects fled with merchandise worth approximately $10,700 and were seen heading southbound on Bowery. Police apprehended a 16-year-old male at the scene, charging him with robbery. The female employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries and declined further medical attention.
