Baby girl found dead in woods near Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK, NY – In a shocking incident on Sunday, NYPD officers made a chilling discovery when a 3-month-old female infant was found unconscious and unresponsive in a wooded area near the intersection of W161st Street and Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx. The young child was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The girl’s body was found just blocks from Yankee Stadium to the east.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken charge of the case to determine the cause of death. As of now, investigations into this heartbreaking incident are still underway.


The deceased infant has been identified as Genevieve Comager, a 3-month-old female residing at 1041 University Avenue in the Bronx. The circumstances surrounding the event are yet to be unveiled as authorities continue their thorough examination.

Reports confirmed the child and her parents were living in the Highbridge homeless shelter across the street from Yankee Stadium.

NYPD detectives and the OCME are working to determine the cause of the infant’s death.
