Delaware State Police Arrest Man on Drug and Gun Charges

FRANKFORD, DE – Billy Mumford, 43, of Frankford, Delaware, has been arrested on drug dealing and gun charges following a narcotics investigation by the Delaware State Police. Mumford, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition, was taken into custody without incident in Selbyville on Friday.

During a search of Mumford’s residence on the 30000 block of Pepper Trail, detectives from the Sussex County Drug Unit and Sussex County Governor’s Task Force found approximately 36.86 grams of cocaine, 17.95 grams of crack cocaine, 39.67 grams of marijuana, one loaded handgun with additional ammunition, various items of drug paraphernalia, and over $16,000 in suspected drug dealing proceeds.

Mumford has been charged with multiple felonies, including Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, among others. After his arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 2, Mumford was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $123,000 cash bond.
