Teenager Charged with Hit-and-Run in Ocean County

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – On Friday, Giancarlos Fernandez, a 19-year-old resident of Hasbrouck Heights, was charged in relation to a hit-and-run incident involving an 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle.

The incident took place at approximately 6:50 p.m. at the intersection of Barnegat Avenue and Freemont Avenue in Seaside Heights. Fernandez fled on foot but was captured shortly afterward.

The boy was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he is listed in stable condition. Fernandez is currently in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
