TOMS RIVER, NJ – A Toms River Intermediate North school teacher who was caught using his classroom as a set for deviant videos on social media has been released by an Ocean County judge after a pre-trial detention hearing.

Kyle Banner who used hashtags like “#pervyteacher” on his sexually explicit videos published on social media from his Toms River Intermediate North classroom, has been ordered released by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan.

Judge Ryan cited New Jersey’s bail reform laws as the reason why he could not legally order Banner to remain in jail until his trial.

The former teacher was set free and is no longer on the inmate roster at the Ocean County Jail. Officials confirmed today that Banner has been released pending his trial.

In court records, Banner is accused of using his classroom for pornographic videos exposing his genitals. School officials and police said students at the school saw his videos online.

According to prosecutors, Banner’s videos were accompanied by messages saying he was pleasuring himself in between classes.

Banners conduct was reportedly ongoing since 2019 and ended when he was exposed in April. He has since been suspended from his job.
