21-Year-Old Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY – Laquan Packer, a 21-year-old resident of Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, was arrested and charged by the New York City Police Department’s 73rd Precinct on Thursday, May 25, 2023. The charges against Packer include attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Packer’s arrest is connected to an assault involving a non-fatal shooting that took place on Friday, December 27, 2019. The incident occurred at the intersection of Watkins Street and Belmont Avenue, where an individual discharged a firearm, grazing a 32-year-old male riding a motorized scooter at the location. The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital in a stable condition.
