Fugitive Arrested in Connection with 2022 Parkside Shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA – District Attorney Larry Krasner, along with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Homicide and Non-Fatal Shooting Unit, announced on Thursday the capture of Raymond Harcum, a fugitive implicated in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Khalil Harris.

Harris’s life was cut short in the city’s Parkside neighborhood on March 19, 2022.

Early on Sunday, two Pennsylvania State Police Troopers identified Harcum during a routine vehicle stop. Harcum attempted to evade arrest, fleeing the scene, but was subsequently apprehended on the 1500 block of Spring Street.


He now faces an array of charges, including Murder, Possession of an Instrument of Crime, and Reckless Endangerment of Another Person in relation to the 2022 shooting.

Charges from his recent flight include Evading Arrest and Reckless Driving. The family of Khalil Harris has been notified of Harcum’s arrest.
