$50,000 in eyeglasses stolen at Bay Plaza Mall

Bronx, NY – Police are investigating a coordinated theft between three individuals inside the Bay Plaza Mall who stole nearly $50,000 in eyewear from a business.

On Friday, May 26, at approximately 10:50 a.m., three unidentified individuals entered Vistasite Eyecare, located at 200 Baychester Avenue inside the Bay Plaza Mall, and carried out a theft of numerous eyeglasses.

The stolen eyeglasses have an estimated value of $46,252. The perpetrators made their escape in a gray SUV. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the incident.


The first individual involved is described as a 50-year-old male with a dark complexion, medium build, standing approximately 6 feet tall. Notably, this individual walks with a limp.

The second individual is described as a 50-year-old male with a dark complexion, slim build, and also approximately 6 feet tall.

The third individual is described as a 50-year-old male with a medium complexion, heavy build, and standing around 5 feet 9 inches tall.

The New York City Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
