Mom fights off man who tried to abduct her 7-year-old child in NYC

Brooklyn, NY – A mother fought off an attacker who tried to abduct her 7-year-old daughter while she was ordering from a food truck in Bushwick.

On Friday, May 26, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the mother and daughter were approached in front of 8 Wyckoff Avenue where several food trucks were packed.

According to a police report, the 36-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter were waiting near a food truck when an unidentified individual suddenly made an attempt to grab the child physically.


The mother intervened, engaging in a brief struggle with the individual. Ultimately, she managed to break the individual’s grip on her daughter, preventing the abduction. The suspect quickly fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on Wyckoff Avenue towards Flushing Avenue.

The 7-year-old girl escaped unharmed.

Detectives are currently seeking the individual caught on a nearby surveillance video during the incident. The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, slim build, and sporting a black mustache and beard. At the time of the incident, he was attired in a green camouflage hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and gray sneakers.
