ALLENTOWN, PA – On Sunday, Allentown Police responded to reports of shots fired around the 1800 block of South Fifth Street at approximately 3:00 pm. Shortly after, a gunshot victim identified as Edgar Gonzalez, 22, arrived at a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Assistant Chief of Police James G. Gress confirmed a second gunshot victim arrived at an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is currently active and ongoing, led by the Allentown Criminal Investigations Division in conjunction with the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
