FREEHOLD, NJ – Sasha C. Raught, a 55-year-old resident of Manchester Township and a former youth gymnastics coach, faces criminal charges for alleged sexual offenses against three teenage athletes. Raught, who coached in multiple Monmouth County locations for around 30 years, was arrested and charged with first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault and three counts of second-degree Sexual Assault, as declared by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Monday.

An investigation by the MCPO Special Victims Bureau disclosed that Raught had sexual relationships with three of his former athletes during their teenage years.

The first two alleged instances occurred during his tenure at Shrewsbury Gymnastics in the early to mid-1990s, while the third case happened in 2008 when Raught was employed at Jonas Gymnastics Academy in Marlboro.

Last month, Raught was apprehended at his home by members of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Manchester and Shrewsbury Police Departments.

Currently, he is detained in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, pending a detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, in Monmouth County Superior Court.
