Shooting Leaves Woman Dead, Man Injured in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead Tuesday night at the 1200 block of 49th Street in Northeast, D.C.

Shortly before 10:30 pm, police arrived at the location to investigate a shooting report. Officers discovered 63-year-old Georgia Gray of Northeast, D.C. suffering from a gunshot wound. Gray was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the scene police also found another victim, an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound. The male victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
