BROOKLYN, NY – A former officer of the New York City Police Department, identified as Shaun Frazier, 43, from Brooklyn, has been handed an eight-year prison sentence after being convicted for sexually assaulting a child and endangering three other children.

Frazier was sentenced on Thursday by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Donald Leo, to be followed by five years of post-release supervision.

Frazier had entered a guilty plea to one count of first-degree criminal sexual act and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child on March 13.

Upon his release, Frazier will be registered as a sex offender.

The investigation had revealed that Frazier, a family friend of the four victims, had committed multiple incidents of sexual misconduct while serving in the New York City police department, which he joined in January 2015.

Frazier was suspended from the NYPD in 2019, after which he resigned in November 2020. Before his time with the NYPD, Frazier worked as a court officer for a decade.
