Juveniles Arrested for Carjacking in Delaware

NEW CASTLE, DE – Delaware State Police arrested a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old from New Castle for a carjacking that took place at a Claymont Wawa last Tuesday.

On that day, at around 1:52 p.m., troopers responded to the scene and discovered that the suspects had carjacked a 59-year-old man.

The juveniles fled in the stolen Ford Escape but were later spotted at a BP Gas Station. A pursuit led to Wilmington where the 14-year-old was apprehended after fleeing on foot. The second suspect was later identified but initially evaded capture.

The 14-year-old was charged with Robbery Second Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree. He was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on a $22,000 cash bail.

On Wednesday, the 16-year-old suspect was arrested and also charged with Robbery Second Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree. He was held on a $6,000 cash bail.
