In a move aimed at making deer hunting less convoluted, New Jersey’s Fish & Wildlife agency will be hosting a series of Deer Hunter Forums. These forums are open to the public and will focus on preliminary proposals to simplify the state’s deer hunting regulations.
The agency is inviting deer hunters to share their thoughts and insights on how to make the rules for deer hunting less complicated and more affordable. Feedback from the community is deemed vital for preserving deer hunting as both a valuable wildlife management tool and a cherished tradition in New Jersey.
Three forums have been scheduled across the state:
- The North forum will be on September 7, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pequest Trout Hatchery, located at 605 Pequest Rd., Oxford, NJ.
- The Central forum is set for September 28, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rutgers EcoComplex, 1200 Florence Columbus Rd., Bordentown, NJ.
- The South forum will occur on October 5, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Batsto Village State Park Visitor’s Center, 31 Batsto Rd., Hammonton, NJ.
The initiative aims to streamline existing regulations and reduce the financial burden on hunters, making it easier for residents to engage in this outdoor activity.
