Centreville Man Waits Six Months to Claim $100,000 Raffle Prize

Centreville, VA — Mario Vasquez, a resident of Centreville, took his time to claim his $100,000 prize from Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. He waited until June to redeem the winning ticket that he bought at Wegman’s, located at 14361 Newbrook Drive in Chantilly. The winning raffle numbers were announced on January 1.

Vasquez said he checked the winning numbers a few weeks after the announcement and realized he was one of the winners. He held ticket #410073, one of five $100,000 prizes. Five other tickets won the raffle’s $1 million top prize. These tickets were purchased in Burke, Danville, Henrico, Midlothian, and Woodbridge.

In addition to Vasquez’s ticket, there were six other $100,000 winning tickets. These were bought in Blacksburg, Chesapeake, Fredericksburg, Gloucester, Midlothian, and Woodstock. The raffle also included an additional 1,000 tickets that each won $500.
