Public Assistance Sought in Armed Robbery Attempt in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect and a vehicle involved in an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery while Armed.

The incident occurred on Saturday, August 26, in the 1600 block of 1st Street, Northwest.

At around 2:20 p.m., the suspect approached the victim and brandished a handgun in an attempt to rob them.

The victim did not comply, and the suspect fled the scene without obtaining any property.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
