Woman Assaulted, Robbed at Bus Stop in Rego Park

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting public assistance in locating an individual connected to a robbery that occurred on Monday, October 2, at approximately 1:15 pm.

A 58-year-old woman, while waiting at a bus stop in front of 93-17 63rd Drive, was approached by an unknown male who forcibly removed her cellphone, causing her to fall and sustain minor injuries.

The individual, described as a male with a light complexion and approximately 17 to 18 years old, fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on Austin Street. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a tan backpack, and white sneakers. The stolen cellphone is valued at approximately $900.

The victim, who incurred injuries to her head, hands, and arms, sought medical attention at NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst by private means.

The New York City Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding the incident or the individual’s whereabouts to come forward.
