PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Gun Violence Task Force announced the conviction of a motorcyclist for his violent actions during an unauthorized motor meet-up near City Hall. Cody Heron, involved in the October 1, 2023, incident, threatened a woman and her young children, culminating in a viral confrontation.

Heron, captured on video, exited his motorcycle and damaged a woman’s car while she was making food deliveries. He smashed the rear window, causing injury to two children inside with glass shards. Further aggression was displayed when he head-butted the woman and brandished a firearm after she attempted to protect her children.

Philadelphia Police, utilizing the widespread video and additional evidence, arrested Heron on October 4, 2023, charging him with Aggravated Assault among other offenses. Investigations revealed Heron’s attempts to avoid detection by tampering with evidence and misusing digital communications.

During a pre-trial hearing, Heron pleaded guilty to two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Possession of an Instrument of Crime. District Attorney Larry Krasner praised the rapid response and collaboration between the Philadelphia Police and the Gun Violence Task Force.
