RICHMOND, VA – Today, Henry Leon Marrow, Jr., a 34-year-old resident of Richmond, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm due to his status as a convicted felon. The sentencing follows Marrow’s admission of guilt on November 9, 2023, for possessing a loaded Glock 9mm handgun despite prior felony convictions.
The arrest occurred on June 9, 2023, when Richmond Police Officers observed Marrow engaged in a narcotics transaction in a convenience store parking lot on Richmond Highway. Upon arrest, officers discovered 3.18 grams of cocaine on Marrow and, upon his admission, located the firearm in his pants.
Marrow’s criminal history includes convictions for robbery, abduction, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in 2010, as well as shoplifting in 2019. Federal law prohibits individuals with felony convictions from possessing firearms and ammunition. Marrow’s sentencing underscores the enforcement of these laws designed to prevent further criminal activity by individuals with a history of serious offenses.
