The advisory comes amidst forecasts of several rounds of rain, potentially heavy at times, with an accumulation of 1-3 inches anticipated from tonight through Thursday. The heaviest rainfall is expected between Tuesday and Wednesday, raising concerns for urban-type flooding, particularly in areas experiencing higher rainfall rates.
Particularly at risk are the northern New Jersey coastlines, including areas like Barnegat Bay, where minor to local moderate coastal flooding is possible, exacerbated by a period of onshore gale force winds later Tuesday and Wednesday. Additionally, there’s a possibility of stronger thunderstorms accompanied by hail later Tuesday afternoon.
