Teenager Fatally Shot at Brookland Metro Station in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch is investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a young teenager at the Brookland-Catholic University Metro Station. The fatal shooting happened yesterday afternoon.

Responding to a shooting report at approximately 3:59 p.m., Metro Transit Police Department officers found a male teenager with gunshot injuries. Despite the immediate intervention of DC Fire and EMS, the victim, identified as 14-year-old Avion Evans of Northeast D.C., was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and are appealing to the public for assistance in advancing the investigation.
