Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Two-Car Collision in Glasgow

GLASGOW, DE – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a tragic car crash that occurred in Glasgow, resulting in two fatalities. The accident took place on the evening of April 10, 2024, around 10:12 p.m. on Wrangle Hill Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, the incident involved a Nissan Altima attempting a left turn onto Mabel Lane and colliding with a BMW 335 traveling in the opposite direction. The crash resulted in the deaths of both the driver and a passenger from the Nissan.

The deceased include a 57-year-old woman from Newark, who was driving the Nissan, and a 38-year-old man from Newark, who was a passenger in the same vehicle. Neither of the Nissan occupants were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims will be disclosed following notification of their families.

The driver of the BMW, a 38-year-old man from Middletown, sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and was also found not to have been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The area around Wrangle Hill Road was closed for approximately five hours to allow for a thorough investigation and cleanup of the accident site. Further details will be provided as the investigation continues.
