An armed robbery incident led to an arrest in the Southwest District of Baltimore on Saturday evening.
Two 17-year-old males were involved in a physical altercation inside a business on Fredrick Avenue, prompting police response following a silent alarm. The suspect brandished a handgun, attempting to rob the other male, who was an employee of the business. However, a scuffle broke out between them, resulting in minor injuries to the victim, who was treated at the scene by medics.
Law enforcement officers who arrived on the scene broke up the fight and identified the suspect, subsequently taking him into custody. Initial findings from the investigation revealed that the suspect stole the victim’s property after threatening him with the firearm.
During the apprehension, authorities discovered gel caps suspected to contain controlled substances and a handgun with ammunition. The arrested individual will face charges following transport to the Central Booking Intake Facility.
