BRONX, NY—A 40-year-old man was viciously attacked after attempting to intervene in a street altercation on Monday. The incident occurred in front of 3300 Kossuth Avenue at approximately 1:37 PM.
The victim stepped in to defuse a confrontation involving four males and another individual, who managed to flee the scene.
The intervention prompted the group of four males to become agitated, resulting in them chasing down the victim. They knocked him to the ground and proceeded to punch, kick, and stab him multiple times in the back. Following the assault, the attackers fled on foot.
The victim was initially taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/North Central Bronx by private means and later transferred to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
