Inaugural Special Needs High School Kickball Game Set for Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ – An exciting event is on the horizon for the special needs community in Toms River as the first-ever high school kickball game for special needs students will take place at the RWJBarnabas Health Field of Dreams. Scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st at 10:00 AM, this historic game will feature student-athletes from Toms River East High School facing off against their counterparts from Toms River North High School.

The event will be held at 1505 N Bay Ave, Toms River, NJ, in a facility renowned for its inclusive design and comprehensive amenities tailored for the special needs community. The RWJBarnabas Health Field of Dreams includes a multi-purpose field, basketball court, miniature golf course, and various other accessible features designed to accommodate wheelchairs and adaptive equipment. Additionally, the venue offers a “quiet corner” for those with autism, powered changing stations, and a temperature-controlled pavilion.

More than 500 fans are expected to attend, supported by pep bands and cheer squads from both schools, making it a vibrant community gathering. Student volunteers from each high school will also participate, adding to the spirit of inclusivity and support.
