BRISTOW, VA — A disturbing incident occurred on June 1st when a 4-year-old boy was found walking unsupervised and unclothed on the 11700 block of Dawkins Ridge Lane. The Bristow community was alerted to the situation after a Good Samaritan noticed the child and promptly contacted the police at around 5:24 PM.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers were able to locate the child’s residence. They discovered that the child’s mother, Sharmila Prasai, was unaware her son had left the home. Fortunately, the child was unharmed and was quickly returned to the custody of known parties.
Following a thorough investigation, Sharmila Prasai, 42, also of the 11700 block of Dawkins Ridge Lane, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She has since been released on a court summons, with a court date pending.
This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of vigilant supervision of young children. The Bristow community is relieved the situation did not escalate further, thanks to the swift action of the involved citizen and responding officers.
