WASHINGTON, D.C. – A pedestrian crash in Northwest D.C. has resulted in the death of a 67-year-old man.
Preliminary findings indicate that on Wednesday, June 19, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a Toyota was traveling southbound on 6th Street, NW, approaching New York Avenue, NW, with a green light. The pedestrian, identified as Fuyao Wang of Northwest, was crossing New York Avenue in the east crosswalk on 6th Street, NW, following the walk signal. As the Toyota turned left onto New York Avenue, it struck Wang, knocking him to the ground.
Wang was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and succumbed to his injuries a few hours later on June 20.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
