NYPD Investigates Hate Crime on Southbound "A" Train

New York, NY – The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating an assault that took place on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m. A 35-year-old male victim was aboard a southbound “A” train approaching the 125th Street station when an unidentified individual attacked him.

The assailant grabbed the victim by the neck and punched him in the chest while making anti-LGBTQIA+ statements. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, athletic build, and a bald head, approximately 30 to 35 years of age. He was last seen wearing a light green shirt, dark green sweatpants, sunglasses, and white sneakers.
