Smyrna, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place on Saturday night.
On July 6, 2024, at approximately 9:26 p.m., troopers responded to the intersection of Joseph Wick Drive and Willowwood Drive for a reported armed robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 17-year-old victim was walking home when approached by two unknown black male suspects. A physical altercation ensued, during which one suspect struck the victim in the back of the head with a handgun.
After the altercation, the victim attempted to retrieve his jacket and other personal belongings from the street. However, one of the suspects threatened to shoot him if he did. The victim, who sustained a minor injury to the back of his head, fled the scene without his personal property.
The suspects are described as black males, approximately 18-19 years old, around 5’6″ to 5’7″ tall, with average builds. Surveillance video and images of the suspects are not available at this time.
The Delaware State Police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
