Brooklyn Park, MD – On July 1, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of Ritchie Highway and 4th Avenue for a report initially dispatched as an injured/sick subject. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female victim on the sidewalk suffering from apparent stab wounds.
The victim, who was later identified as 47-year-old Jasmen Gennene Wilkerson, who had no fixed address, was treated at the scene and transported to Shock Trauma, where she succumbed to her injuries. Preliminary witness information indicates that Wilkerson was involved in a verbal argument with a male suspect prior to the stabbing.
When officers arrived, the male suspect had fled the scene. The incident appears to have been targeted, as the victim and suspect were known to each other.
