Repeat Offender Arrested for Felony DUI in Stafford

by Breaking Local News Report

STAFFORD, VA—A routine traffic stop turned into a felony arrest for a 31-year-old Stafford man early Friday morning. Deputy L.T. Ward of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office conducted the stop after spotting a Dodge Charger traveling at 60 MPH in a 45 MPH zone along Warrenton Road and Cambridge Street at around 4:49 a.m. on July 19.

The driver, identified as Jimmy Chirinos, displayed clear signs of intoxication, such as glassy, bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Chirinos admitted to consuming “two beers” and disclosed that his driving license had been suspended.

Further investigation revealed that Chirinos’s license suspension was due to multiple DUI offenses, with three prior incidents on record. He was subsequently charged with felony driving under the influence—the fourth offense within ten years—along with driving after forfeiture of his license, driving while suspended, and speeding.

Chirinos is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
