Man Arrested for Shooting Incident in Clairton

CLAIRTON, Pa. — The Allegheny County Police General Investigations Unit responded to a shooting incident in Clairton on Sunday, September 1, where a man was shot in the leg while stopped in traffic at the intersection of North Fourth Street and Carnegie Avenue.

The incident occurred at 3:53 p.m. when the suspect, identified as James Reese, 36, of Pittsburgh, exited another vehicle and fired a single shot through the victim’s windshield. The victim, attempting to flee, struck Reese with his vehicle while accelerating away. The victim was later driven to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and subsequently released.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Reese on multiple charges, including aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, and possessing instruments of crime.

On September 3, 2024, Reese voluntarily turned himself in at the Clairton District Court Magistrate’s Office. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
