EAST HARLEM, N.Y. — Two off-duty New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) employees were arrested on Monday and charged with multiple counts of gang assault in connection with an incident in East Harlem, according to police.
The arrests took place within the confines of the 23rd Precinct, which serves the East Harlem neighborhood. Diamond Minter, 34, and Travor Nurse, 40, were both taken into custody on October 7, authorities said.
Minter was charged with one count of second-degree gang assault, while Nurse faces two counts of second-degree gang assault and an additional charge of assaulting a victim 65 or older. Details about the incident leading to the charges have not yet been released.
Both individuals are employed by NYCHA, though it was not immediately clear if the alleged assault was related to their employment.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been provided regarding the status of the defendants or the condition of the victim.
