Bronx man charged with grand larceny; police seek suspects in separate theft

BRONX, N.Y. — A 25-year-old Bronx man was arrested earlier this week in connection with a grand larceny case, the New York City Police Department said.

Martin Marquez, of 691 Gerard Avenue, was taken into custody on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 12:10 p.m. in the 44th Precinct. Marquez has been charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, police said. Further details about the case were not immediately available.

In a separate incident, the NYPD is seeking the public’s help in identifying two individuals wanted in connection with another grand larceny that occurred last month, also in the 44th Precinct. On September 19, at approximately 8:19 p.m., two suspects entered a grocery store at 98 East 167th Street and approached a 32-year-old man, police said.

The suspects snatched a bag from the victim, who later recovered his belongings. The two individuals fled the scene on a moped, heading towards Walton Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the suspects is encouraged to contact the NYPD as the investigation remains ongoing.
