High-speed chase erupts after 17-year-old shot in Montgomery Village

by Local News Report

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Three people, including a teen, are facing charges in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old boy and a subsequent police chase through Montgomery Village, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

The incident unfolded on Thursday, Nov. 7, around 5 p.m., when officers patrolling the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle spotted a gray Honda Odyssey parked in front of an apartment building. Police observed three individuals exit the minivan and enter the building.

Shortly afterward, one of the suspects allegedly shot a 17-year-old boy inside the building before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle. Officers provided immediate aid to the victim until medics arrived; he was then transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As the suspects attempted to escape, police pursued the Honda Odyssey. The vehicle led officers on a chase through several neighborhoods, eventually speeding onto Interstate 270.

The three suspects have now been charged, though police have not released their names. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the exact motives and connections between those involved.
