TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Nearly 2,000 residents in Toms River remained without power Saturday as utility crews worked to assess the cause of the outage that struck earlier in the day.
According to the latest update from First Energy Corp, the outage, which was first reported earlier in the day, is still under investigation. Crews have yet to begin repairs, but officials say the issue has been logged and teams are preparing for site assessments.
An estimated restoration time has been set for 10:30 p.m. Saturday, though utility representatives cautioned that this may change as the cause is determined. In neighborhoods less impacted, fewer than 20 homes were reportedly affected, though the majority of outages remain concentrated in larger areas of the township.
