Trump Shuts Down Controversial App That Facilitated Illegal Immigration

CBP halts appointment bookings through its app, leaving migrants to navigate border crossings without the digital tool.

by Breaking Local News Report

WASHINGTON – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has removed the scheduling functionality from its CBP One™ mobile application, effective Jan. 20, at noon EST, the agency announced Tuesday.

The feature previously allowed migrants to submit advanced information and book appointments at eight southwest border ports of entry. CBP confirmed that all existing appointments scheduled through the app have been cancelled, and affected individuals were notified.

“CBP remains dedicated to efficiently processing applicants for admission at U.S. ports of entry while upholding U.S. immigration laws,” the agency stated in its announcement.

The CBP One app, introduced in 2021, was designed to streamline border processing and facilitate communication between migrants and CBP officials.

The agency did not provide a specific reason for the decision to discontinue the scheduling feature but emphasized its continued commitment to orderly processing.

CBP has not indicated whether alternative systems for scheduling or processing will be introduced to replace the app’s functionality.
