Fire extinguished on 28th floor of North Bergen high-rise; resident hospitalized

NORTH BERGEN, N.J. — A fire broke out Friday morning on the 28th floor of a high-rise building at 8200 Boulevard East, prompting a swift response from local emergency services. The North Hudson Regional Fire Department, North Bergen Police, and EMS teams arrived at approximately 10:00 a.m. to contain the blaze, which has since been extinguished.

The sole resident of the affected apartment was transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution, officials confirmed. No evacuations were deemed necessary, but fire crews remain on scene to monitor for hot spots and ensure the area is fully secured.

Motorists have been advised to avoid Bulls Ferry Road, where icy conditions caused by water runoff are creating hazards. North Bergen’s Department of Public Works is standing by to treat the area once the fire department completes its work.
