D.C. Carjacking Suspect Nabbed After Nearly a Year on the Run

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that took place in Southeast D.C. last March, the Metropolitan Police Department announced.

The incident occurred on March 22, at approximately 3:18 p.m. in the 3900 block of 1st Street, Southeast. The suspect and the victim were seated in the victim’s vehicle when the suspect brandished a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and demanded he exit the car. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

Following an investigation, police arrested 22-year-old Miquel Beasley of Bryans Road, MD, on January 30, 2025. Beasley was taken into custody under a DC Superior Court warrant and charged with armed carjacking (gun) and failure to appear.

The case remains under investigation.
