Stolen gun recovered in Bensalem, Philadelphia Man Arrested

by Breaking Local News Report

BENSALEM, Pa. — A routine traffic stop led to the discovery of a stolen firearm and an arrest warrant for a Philadelphia man, authorities said.

At 10:45 a.m. on Friday, a Bensalem Township Police officer stopped a gray Nissan Pathfinder near Knights Road and Plum Avenue for multiple vehicle violations, including heavily tinted windows, a covered license plate, and missing inspection stickers.

The driver, identified as Malique Davis, 29, of Philadelphia, displayed nervous behavior and provided inconsistent statements, police said.

A drug-sniffing K9 alerted officers to the possible presence of narcotics, prompting authorities to tow the vehicle to the Bensalem Township Police Department while a search warrant was obtained.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a loaded Glock 17 semi-automatic handgun concealed behind the driver’s side window control panel. The firearm had been reported stolen through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).

A records check revealed that Davis was legally prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was charged with multiple offenses, including Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Receiving Stolen Property.

A warrant was issued for his arrest after he refused to surrender to authorities.
