YONKERS, N.Y. – A 17-year-old has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of two 16-year-olds outside a Lake Avenue residence, police said.

Officers responded to 136 Lake Avenue around 8 p.m. Thursday and found the two victims with stab wounds. Authorities said officers provided aid before both teens were transported to area hospitals, where they later died.

Detectives determined that one victim entered the location and became involved in a verbal dispute with the suspect, who then stabbed him in the chest. As the suspect attempted to flee, he encountered the second victim at the entrance and stabbed him in the abdomen and upper chest before fleeing, police said.

The suspect, a 17-year-old Yonkers resident, was apprehended Friday and is expected to be arraigned in the Youth Part of Westchester County Court on two counts of second-degree murder, an A1 felony.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved due to their ages but confirmed one victim was from Yonkers and the other from Queens.
