by Local News Report

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A man was arrested in Severn after allegedly fleeing from officers and attempting to discard multiple drugs during a traffic stop, authorities said.

The incident occurred Friday when officers conducted a traffic stop on a Lincoln near Coatsbridge Court and Stillmeadows Drive. Police said the driver, identified as 39-year-old Harrison Anthony Barnes of Glen Burnie, ran from the scene.

After a brief chase, officers took Barnes into custody. Before his arrest, he allegedly discarded several drugs, including 13 gel caps of suspected heroin, 15 bags of suspected cocaine, one vial of suspected PCP, and approximately 2.31 grams of cannabis.

Officers recovered the drugs, and Barnes was charged accordingly.
