HANOVER, Md. — A college student from Elkridge who rarely plays the Maryland Lottery walked away with a $50,000 prize after trying his luck on a Gold Rush 777 scratch-off ticket.
The Information Technology major purchased the ticket at the Arundel Mills Exxon at 7043 Arundel Mills Circle. While scratching it inside the store, he realized he had several matching numbers. After verifying his win with a store clerk, the reality of his $50,000 prize set in.
The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, enjoys basketball, good food, and spending time with family.
Gold Rush 777, which launched in May 2024, still has more than 300,000 prizes available, including two $1 million top prizes and two additional $50,000 prizes.
