FDNY firefighter arrested for assault in Harlem

NEW YORK – An off-duty New York City firefighter was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with assault in Manhattan, police said.

Nicholas Hood, 37, was taken into custody at 4:06 p.m. within the confines of the NYPD’s 28th Precinct, which covers parts of Harlem.

Hood, a firefighter with the FDNY, faces a charge of third-degree assault. No further details about the incident were immediately available.
