V Street turns deadly in late-night DC stabbing

A Southeast DC neighborhood became the scene of a fatal stabbing Thursday night as police work to uncover who’s responsible.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man is dead after being found with stab wounds late Thursday night in Southeast Washington, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Late-night call leads to grim discovery

Officers responded to a report of an unconscious person on V Street SE just before 11:30 p.m. on April 10. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive individual suffering from what police described as “sharp force” injuries consistent with a stabbing.

Emergency crews transported the victim to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
