Search warrants executed after ongoing drug investigation

Members of the Kent County Drug Unit, Governor’s Task Force, and Special Operations Response Team executed warrants on April 9 at two homes — one on Harmony Lane and one on State Circle — as part of a narcotics investigation targeting Ian and Jaaron Tolson.

Prior to the search of the State Circle residence, detectives saw a red Cadillac Escalade leave the property, driven by Jaaron Tolson. He was stopped and taken into custody without incident. Ian Tolson was arrested at the Harmony Lane location.

Firearms, cocaine, and paraphernalia seized

At the State Circle property, detectives recovered two 9mm handguns, a stolen .45 caliber handgun, a small quantity of crack cocaine, ammunition, and a digital scale. At the Harmony Lane address, police found a 9mm handgun, more than 34 grams of crack cocaine, additional ammunition, and a digital scale.

A background check revealed that Ian Tolson is a convicted felon, legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. He was transported to Troop 3, formally charged, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of a $105,500 cash bond.
